There is no age limit on achieving your forever smile, and Invisalign may be the perfect treatment for your orthodontic needs and lifestyle. At Forever Smiles Orthodontics, we are highly trained and knowledgeable about every stage of development for the mouth and jaw. We are passionate about helping our adult patients get the smile they deserve with unmatched personalized care. Invisalign is a virtually invisible treatment that gives you the freedom to improve the health and esthetics of your smile without impacting your current appearance.

Why Should I Get Invisalign as an Adult?

We’ve found that adults will go years feeling uncomfortable with their current smile because they feel as if they are past the point of orthodontic treatment. At Forever Smiles Orthodontics, we strive to break this cycle and help our adult patients get into a treatment that works for them. While Invisalign may take longer for adults than in the growing mouths of kids and teenagers, it can be just as effective for older patients. Invisalign aligners can tackle problems big and small that have developed since childhood or have never been addressed with treatment.

While Invisalign provides patients with beautiful esthetics, these aligners also improve the health of your mouth. If your teeth are overcrowded or your jaw is misaligned, you may suffer discomfort when chewing, eating, biting, speaking, and more. Through Invisalign treatment, we can correct these issues and help your mouth function better while your smile looks better.

While the Invisalign results are stunning, we understand that you need a treatment that fits into your lifestyle during every step of the process. Invisalign aligners have gained popularity in recent years because they are easily removable, allowing patients to take them out to eat, drink, play sports, clean their teeth, and more. Experience the benefits of Invisalign and schedule a complimentary first visit with our practice today. Our team is excited to give you care that makes you feel seen and heard and results in a happier and healthier smile.

How Will You Start My Treatment Plan?

We begin treatment by performing a comprehensive exam of your mouth and jaw and discussing your concerns and expectations for treatment. We want to build a treatment plan that works for you, so we take your input into account while including our clinical decisions based on observation. To get an in-depth view of your oral health, we take a 3D image of your mouth that allows us to understand better the areas of your mouth that may need to be addressed with Invisalign treatment. After we take this image, we can digitally alter it to project the final results of your smile after you complete treatment.

Once we agree on a treatment plan that works for you, our doctor will make a series of digital adjustments to your aligners and design a plan to guide you to your dream smile. We will use the 3D image to print your first set of aligners that will fit snugly over your teeth and provide consistent pressure. Every two weeks, you will get a new pair of adjusted aligners until you’ve completed treatment and achieved your forever smile.

How Long Will My Treatment Last?

Your treatment plan will be designed to address your orthodontic needs and goals specifically, so there is no one-size-fits-all treatment length. If certain issues are more extensive, you may need to stay in aligners longer to solve these issues thoroughly. While we want your treatment to be as efficient as possible, we also don’t want to rush results and risk the success of your dream smile. While there is no exact timeline, many of our patients remain in Invisalign for around one to two years. If you want to figure out a realistic timeline for your treatment, we encourage you to call our office today and schedule your complimentary first consultation.

How Do I Sanitize Invisalign?

Keeping your Invisalign clean is easy, and it only adds one more step to your daily dental hygiene routine. In addition to brushing your teeth twice a day and flossing frequently, take a moment to scrub your aligners using a toothbrush and warm water. This will rid your appliance of any harmful bacteria that could be carried back to your teeth.

Is Invisalign Uncomfortable?

Invisalign is often considered the most comfortable corrective treatment available. The aligners are printed in a revolutionary thermoplastic that had been engineered for patient comfort. Additionally, they are printed to fit snugly over your teeth, so there is no chance for them to bump against your gum and soft tissue. If you experience discomfort while your teeth are shifting, we suggest taking any over-the-counter pain medicine to help ease the pain.
